- Biography
David Southern’s interest in photography started at university. Following
two years TEFL teaching and travelling in Peru, he returned to England,
but it wasn’t until 1985 that he owned his first SLR camera.
As head of IT at the WWF, David feels a strong affiliation with nature and
the threats facing the environment. David frequently lectures on photography
and often uses these opportunities to illustrate the work of WWF throughout
the world. David regularly lends his images to be used in WWF’s publications,
diaries and calendars.
However, it is his place of birth on the Wirral that still provides rich
pickings for indulging in his passion for photography, (this location is
featured on the site).
David has been published in a number of photographic magazines including
a feature in Amateur Photography Magazine.
This site contains just a small selection of more than 2,000 images amassed
from nearly 20 years travelling for both work and pleasure. We hope to have
